The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 55(1), (2) and (4) and 110(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and shall come into operation on 31st May 2016.
2.-(1) Regulation 13(2) (colour of light shown by lamps and reflectors) of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000(2) is amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) At the end of sub-paragraph (x) omit "or".
(3) After sub-paragraph (y) add-
"or
(z)yellow light from a taxi roof sign.".

These Regulations amend the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 by including a yellow light from a taxi roof sign in the list of exceptions at regulation 13(2).
These Regulations have been notified to the European Commission pursuant to European Parliament and Council Directive 98/34/EC of 22nd June 1998 (O.J. No. L204, 21.7.98, p. 37) as amended by European Parliament and Council Directive 98/48/EC of 20th July 1998 (O.J. No. L217, 5.8.98, p. 18) laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations, and of rules on Information Society services.
