The Department of the Environment makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 23(3) of the Road Traffic Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Offenders (Additional Offences) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014 and shall come into operation on 31st October 2014.
2. In Article 23(2) of the Road Traffic Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 (speeding offences etc: admissibility of certain evidence), after sub-paragraph (f)(2) add-
"(g)an offence under section 11(1) of the HGV Road User Levy Act 2013(3) (offence of using or keeping heavy goods vehicle if levy not paid).".

This Order amends Article 23(2) of the Road Traffic Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 to add the offence of using or keeping a heavy goods vehicle on a UK road without paying the levy to the offences to which that Article, which deals with the admissibility of certain evidence, applies.
