The Civil Registration (2011 Act) (Commencement No1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011

The Department of Finance and Personnel makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 34 of the Civil Registration Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 (1):

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Registration (2011 Act) (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011.

Appointed day

2. The following provisions of the Civil Registration Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 shall come into operation on 3rd October 2011 -

(a)section 1(1), (2), (3)(a) and (5) (registration of births);

(b)section 5 (time limit on registration of still-births);

(c)section 6 (registration of still-births where parents not married);

(d)section 9(1), (2), (3), (4)(a) and (6) (registration of deaths);

(e)section 12 (discharge of functions of the Registrar General); and

(f)section 18 (issue of short birth certificate).

This Order brings into operation on 3rd October 2011 the following provisions of the Civil Registration Act (Northern Ireland) 2011-

(a)section 1(1) to (3)(a) and (5) (registration of births);

(b)section 5 (time limit on registration of still-births);

(c)section 6 (registration of still-births where parents not married);

(d)section 9(1) to (4)(a) and (6) (registration of deaths);

(e)section 12 (discharge of functions of the Registrar General); and

(f)section 18 (issue of short birth certificate).
