These Regulations correct an error in regulation 7A(1)(a) of the Electricity (Guarantees of Origin of Electricity Produced from Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 ("the 2003 Regulations"). Regulation 7A was inserted in the 2003 Regulations by regulation 8 of the Electricity (Guarantees of Origin of Electricity Produced from Renewable Energy Sources) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 (S.R. 2010 No. 374) ("the 2010 Regulations").
The 2003 Regulations and the 2010 Regulations implement in Northern Ireland Article 15 of Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources and amending and subsequently repealing Directive 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC (OJ No. L140, 5.6.2009, p.16).
These Regulations are being issued free of charge to all known recipients of the 2010 Regulations.
