The Cycle Racing on Roads (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010

Coming into operation

1st January 2011

The Department for Regional Development(1) makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 45(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995(2) and now vested in it(3).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as The Cycle Racing on Roads (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2011.

Amendments

2.-(1) Regulation 5 (authorisation of cycle races in accordance with standard conditions) of the Cycle Racing on Roads Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1986(4) shall be amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2) In paragraph (a) in sub-paragraph (i)-

(a)for head (A) substitute-

-(A)in 2 races in any one year selected by Cycling Ulster, 100;-;

(b)in head (B) for -60- substitute -80-.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Cycle Racing on Roads Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1986. Regulation 5(a)(i)(A) is substituted to change the reference to the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation and the Ulster Cycling Federation to Cycling Ulster. Regulation 5(a)(i)(B) is amended to increase the maximum number of competitors from 60 to 80 in races not selected by Cycling Ulster.
