1. These Regulations may be cited as the Smoke-free (Exemptions, Vehicles, Penalties and Discounted Amounts) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2008.
2.–(1) The Smoke-free (Exemptions, Vehicles, Penalties and Discounted Amounts) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007(3) shall be amended in accordance with paragraph (2).
(2) In regulation 5(1) (Other residential accommodation) for the words "aged 16 years" there is substituted the words "aged 18 years".

These Regulations amend regulation 5(1) of the Smoke-free (Exemptions, Vehicles, Penalties and Discounted Amounts) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007. The amendment to regulation 5(1) is linked to the raising of the age of sale of tobacco and cigarette papers from 16 years to 18 years of age.
