The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 5(1) and (2) of the Ombudsman (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(1) and Article 4(1) and (2) of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996(2) and now vested in it (3) makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st March 2008.
2. The Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006e is revoked.
3. The annual salaries payable to the Assembly Ombudsman and the Commissioner for Complaints shall be increased from £120,300 to £122,105 from 1st April 2007 and then increased to £123,200 from 1st November 2007.

This Order provides for an increase in the annual salaries payable to the Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Complaints.
This provision is made with retrospective effect under Article 5(2) of the Ombudsman (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 and Article 4(2) of the Commissioner for Complaints (Northern Ireland) Order 1996.
Article 2 revokes the Salaries (Assembly Ombudsman and Commissioner for Complaints) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
