EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the definition of the "the Commission Regulation" contained in the Spreadable Fats (Marketing Standards) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 (S.R. 1999 No.383, as amended), "the 1999 Regulations".
In amending that definition in the 1999 Regulations, these Regulations provide for the execution and enforcement of Commission Regulation (EC) No.445/2007 laying down certain detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2991/94 laying down standards for spreadable fats and of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 1898/87 on the protection of designations used in the marketing of milk and milk products (OJ No. L106, 24.4.2007, p.24). Commission Regulation (EC) No. 445/2007 revoked and replaced without further amendment Commission Regulation (EC) No. 577/97 as amended.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared for these Regulations because no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
