The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007

The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 4(5) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992[
1] and now vested in it[
2].
Citation and commencement
1.
This Order may be cited as the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 and shall come into operation on 11th April 2007.
Increase in earnings limits in respect of dependent children and qualifying young persons
2.
In paragraph 4(4) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992—
(a) in paragraph (a) for "£175" substitute "£180"; and
(b) in paragraph (b) for "£23" and "£175" substitute "£24" and "£180" respectively.
Revocation
3.
The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006[3] is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
Where a disablement pension with unemployability supplement is increased in respect of one or more children or qualifying young persons and the beneficiary is one of two persons who are spouses or civil partners residing together or who are living together as husband and wife or civil partners, paragraph 4(4) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 provides that the increase shall not be payable in respect of the first child or qualifying young person if the other person's earnings are £175 a week or more and in respect of further children or qualifying young persons for each complete £23 by which the earnings exceed £175. This Order increases the amounts of £175 and £23 to £180 and £24 respectively.
Article 3 revokes the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
