PUBLIC HEALTH
The Smoking (2006 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007
The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006[
1].
Citation and interpretation
1.
—(1) This Order may be cited as the Smoking (2006 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007.
(2) In this Order, "the Order" means the Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
Appointed Day
2.
The day appointed for the coming into operation of the remaining provisions of the Order so far as they have not been brought into operation by Article 1(3) of the Order shall be 30th April 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order provides for the coming into operation of the whole of the remainder of the Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 on 30 April 2007, in so far as not already in operation.
The following provisions of the Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 have been brought into operation by Article 1(3) of the Smoking (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 on 14th January 2007—
(a) Article 1;
(b) Article 2;
(c) Article 3(5);
(d) Articles 4 to 6;
(e) Article 7, so far as it authorises the making of regulations;
(f) Article 9(2);
(g) Article 11(3);
(h) Articles 14 to 16;
(i) paragraphs 4, 5, 8 and 17 of Schedule 1 (and Article 10(3) so far as relating to those paragraphs).
