The Lord Chancellor makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 14, 22 and 27 of the Legal Aid, Advice and Assistance (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[
1] and now vested in him[

Citation and commencement
1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Aid (Assessment of Resources) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 27th March 2006.
Amendment to the principal regulations
2.
In regulation 1(2) of the Legal Aid (Assessment of Resources) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981[
3] for "Department of Health and Social Services" substitute "Department for Social Development".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Legal Aid (Assessment of Resources) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981, as a consequence of the Departments (Northern Ireland) Order 1999, to substitute the Department for Social Development for the reference made to the Department of Health and Social Services.
