The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 65(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[
1] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following By-Laws:
Citation and commencement
1.
These By-Laws may be cited as the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 18th June 2005.
By-Laws amended
2.
In the Schedule to the By-Laws made in respect of Motor Hackney Carriages standing or plying for hire made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951[
2], after the entry for Malone Road there shall be added -
"MAYS MEADOW |
North Side: from a point approximately 36 metres west of the south kerbline of East Bridge Street for a distance of 95 metres in a westerly direction. Carriages shall stand in a single line by the kerbline and parallel therewith. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the By-Laws)
These By-Laws further amend the Schedule to the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951 by making provision for a new taxi stand at Mays Meadow.
