STATUTORY RULES OF NORTHERN IRELAND

CRIMINAL EVIDENCE
The Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2004
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Article 1(2) of the Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1999[
1], hereby makes the following Order:
1.
This Order may be cited as the Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2004.
2.
Insofar as they relate to adult witnesses in criminal proceedings before the county court the following provisions of the Criminal Evidence (NI) Order 1999 shall come into operation on 21st December 2004:
• Articles 11 to 14 and Article 18 and;
• Article 40(1) insofar as it relates to paragraph 6 of Schedule 1.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This not is not part of the Order.)
This Order commences Articles 3 to 10 and 11 to 14, Article 18 and Article 40(1) in so far as they relate to paragraph 6 of Schedule 1 of the Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 for adult witnesses in criminal proceedings before the County Court.
