BETTING, GAMING AND LOTTERIES
The Betting and Gaming (2004 Order) (Commencement No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004
The Department for Social Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(4) of the Betting and Gaming (Northern Ireland) Order 2004[
1] and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the Betting and Gaming (2004 Order) (Commencement No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004.
(2) In this Order "the 2004 Order" means the Betting and Gaming (Northern Ireland) Order 2004.
Appointed day
2.
The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the 2004 Order is 6th January 2005 -
(a) Article 5(1) (together with Schedules 2 and 3); and
(b) in Schedule 4, the entries relating to Articles 174(3)(a), 178(2) and 186(1) of the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985[2], and Article 12(3) so far as it relates thereto.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order brings into operation the remaining provisions of the Betting and Gaming (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 (the 2004 Order). It appoints 6th January 2005 for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the 2004 Order -
(a) Article 5(1) (Bookmaking office licences) (together with Schedules 2 and 3); and
(b) the remaining repeals in Schedule 4 and Article 12(3) so far as it relates thereto.
