Principal instrument, how to be ascertained. 61.Subs.(1) rep. by 1949 c.15 (NI) s.16 sch.4 Pt.II; SLR (NI) 1954 (2) In any other case the parties may determine for themselves which of several instruments is to be deemed the principal instrument, and may pay the ad valorem duty thereon accordingly. What is to be deemed a conveyance on any occasion, not being a sale or mortgage.
