Proof of marriage for purposes of enactments. 2.(1) Where the ..., marriage ... of a person is required to be proved for the purposes of any enactment specified in the Second Schedule, any person shall, on presenting a written requisition in such form and containing such particulars as may be directed by the Ministry of Finance and on payment of such fee or fees as shall be prescribed, be entitled to obtain a certified copy of the entry of the ..., marriage ... of that person in the relevant register under the hand of the person having the custody thereof, and forms for such requisition shall on request be supplied without any charge by every person having the custody of the register. (2) Regulations made under ... the Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1844, may provide for the furnishing by ... registrars of marriages, subject to the payment of such fees as may be prescribed under this Act, of such information (including copies of or extracts from the registers or other books in their custody) as may be provided by the regulations for the purposes of any enactment specified in the Second Schedule. (3) The Governor may by Order in Council add to the enactments specified in the Second Schedule any other enactment for the purposes of which the provisions of this section are to be applied; and where such an Order in Council is made this section and that Schedule shall have effect accordingly.
