Penalty for obstructing construction of railway. 24. If any person wilfully obstruct any person acting under the authority of the company in the lawful exercise of their power in setting out the line of the railway, or pull up or remove any poles or stakes driven into the ground for the purpose of so setting out the line of the railway, or deface or destroy any marks made for the same purpose, he shall forfeit a sum not exceeding five pounds for every such offence.
