Owners may recover from servants amounts paid for damage caused by their negligence. 125. It shall be lawful for any owner of an engine or carriage who shall pay the amount of any damage caused by the misfeasance or negligence of any servant or other person employed by him to recover the amount so paid by him from such servant or other person, by the same means as the company are enabled to recover the amount of such damage from the owner of any engine or carriage. And with respect to the settlement of disputes by arbitration:
