Section 4 of 1831 c.32 not to apply to live game birds in certain cases. 10. So much of section four of the Game Act, 1831, as makes it an offence for any person to buy or sell or have in his house, possession, or control game birds after the dates therein specified, shall not apply where the game is live game, and the person buying, selling, or having in his house, possession, or control the game, is keeping or intending to keep the game solely for the purpose of breeding or for sale alive, and either is licensed at the time to deal in game, or is a holder of a ... licence to kill game in force at the time.
