Interpretation. 11.(1) The expression "ashpit" in the Public Health Acts and in this Act shall for the purposes of the execution of those Acts and of this Act include any ashtub or other receptable for the deposit of ashes, [or faecal matter]. Subs.(2) rep. by 1964 c.27 (NI) s.43 sch. (3) In this Act if not inconsistent with the context Definitions rep. by SRO (NI) 1973/285 The expression "sanitary convenience" includes urinals, water-closets, earth-closets, privies, ashpits, and any similar convenience. The expression "daily penalty" means a penalty for each day on which any offence is continued after conviction therefor. The expressions... "owner", "street", "house", "drain", "sewer", have respectively the same meaning as in the Public Health Acts.
