Penalty on obstructing execution of Act. 276. Where in any local Act the consent, sanction, or confirmation of the Lord Lieutenant, the chief secretary, or the Privy Council is required with respect to the borrowing of any money, to the giving effect to any byelaws, or to the appointment of any officer for sanitary purposes, the consent, sanction, or confirmation of the Local Government Board shall be required instead of that of the authorities above named. ... The powers vested in or exercisable by one of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State under the Markets and Fairs Clauses Act, 1847, so far as the same relate to Ireland, are hereby transferred to the Local Government Board, or may in Ireland be exercised by the Local Government Board.
