1.(1) The Treasury may from time to time make regulations (a)For transferring to the Bank of England or the Bank of Ireland any of the duties performed at the passing of this Act in the office of Her Majesty's Paymaster General; and (b)For otherwise altering or rescinding the regulations in force at the passing of this Act for the conduct of business in the said office; and (c)In the case of any funds or securities required by any enactment in force at the passing of this Act to stand in the name of or be held by the Paymaster General or Assistant Paymaster General jointly with any other person, for substituting for the Paymaster General or Assistant Paymaster General any officer of the Bank of England appointed in that behalf by the Treasury, with the concurrence of the Bank of England, or any officer of any public department. (2) All regulations made in pursuance of this section shall be laid before Parliament within three weeks after they are made if Parliament is then sitting, and if Parliament is not then sitting, within three weeks after the then next meeting of Parliament. (3) The validity of any power of attorney or other authority given by the Paymaster General or Assistant Paymaster General shall not be affected by anything done in pursuance of regulations made under this section.
