Annual and other reports by the Inspector General. 15.(1) The Inspector General shall, as soon as possible after the end of each calendar year, submit to the Police Authority a general report in writing on the carrying out by the police force of their functions during that year and the Authority shall transmit that report or a copy thereof to the Minister who shall lay a copy before each House of [the Parliament of the United Kingdom]. (2) The Inspector General shall, whenever so required by the Minister or the Police Authority, submit to him or to them reports in writing on such matters as may be specified in the requirement. (3) If it appears to the Inspector General that a report in compliance with any such requirement of the Police Authority as is mentioned in subsection (2) would contain information which in the public interest ought not to be disclosed, or is not needed for the discharge of the functions of the Police Authority, he shall request that Authority to refer the requirement to the Minister; and in any such case the requirement shall be of no effect unless it is confirmed by the Minister.
