48.(1) Before a person first begins, after the commencement of this subsection with respect to any office or shop premises, to employ persons to work therein, he shall serve on the appropriate authority two copies of a notice stating that persons will be employed by him so to work and containing such other, if any, information as may be prescribed by order of the Ministry, being a notice in such form and of such size as may be so prescribed. Subs.(2) rep. by SR 1979/284 (3) A person who fails to comply with an obligation to which he is subject by virtue of ... subsection (1) ... shall be guilty of an offence and liable [on summary conviction] to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds. (4) Proceedings for an offence under this section may be commenced at any time within twelve months from the time when the offence was committed. (5) In this section "appropriate authority" has the same meaning as in section 47. Ss.49, 50 rep. by SR 1979/284 1972 NI 12
