An Act to make further and better provision with regard to the Naval Medical Compassionate Fund. [16th March 1915] PS0800[WHEREAS under an Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of August, 1817, the Naval Medical Supplemental Fund Society was established for the relief of widows of medical officers in the Royal Navy: And Whereas it was provided in that Order that if any bequest or donations should be made in favour of the society, the principal amount thereof should be reserved separately as a compassionate fund, and that the interest should be distributed... among the orphans of deceased members thereof .... And Whereas in pursuance of the Naval Medical Supplemental Fund Society Winding-Up Act, 1861, the society has been wound-up, but that Act provided that notwithstanding the winding-up of the society the above-mentioned compassionate fund should continue, but on a voluntary instead of a compulsory basis.... And Whereas the said Act made no provision for the future management of the said fund, but the said fund has in fact remained under the management of a body consisting of the Secretary to the Admiralty, the Medical Director-General of the Navy, and certain medical naval officers who have contributed to the fund, and now consists of the sum of ten thousand six hundred pounds two and a half per centum consolidated stock: And Whereas it is expedient to make provision for the management of the said fund and to alter the terms of contribution thereto and the nature of the benefits therefrom in manner hereinafter appearing:]
