LUNACY REGULATION (IRELAND) ACT 1871 - SECT 11

Medical visitors may be ordered to visit alleged lunatic, and report.

11. [The High Court] may at any time and from time to time direct one or more
of the medical visitors to visit any alleged lunatic, and inquire into the
state and condition of his mind, and his capacity or incapacity to manage his
person or property, and his residence, mode of treatment, and condition
generally, and also to make such other specific inquiries relative to the
alleged lunatic as to [the High Court] may seem fit, and to report thereon,
and every report, notice, or return made in pursuance of this or any of the
previous sections of this Act shall be filed in [the Office of Care and
Protection], but it shall not be permitted to be inspected by nor shall any
copy thereof be given to any person without a special order of [the High
Court] to that effect, and to be made in the matter of the alleged lunacy:
