Audit of account of land commission. 56. [The Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland shall from time to time cause to be prepared in such form and at such times as the Treasury may from time to time direct accounts of the receipts and expenditure of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice in Northern Ireland in respect of the functions transferred to that Court by or under the Northern Ireland Land Purchase (Winding Up) Act, 1935, and within six months after the expiration of the year to which the accounts relate the Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland shall cause the same to be transmitted to the Controller and Auditor General] to be audited, certified, and reported upon in conformity with the regulations from time to time made by the Treasury for that purpose, and the accounts, with the reports of the Controller and Auditor General thereon, shall be laid before the House of Commons not later than three months after the date on which they were transmitted for audit if Parliament be then sitting, and if not sitting, within fourteen days after Parliament next assembles. Provided, that the regulations made by the Treasury under this section shall be laid before the House of Commons within one month of the date thereof, if Parliament be then sitting, and, if not, then within fourteen days after Parliament next assembles, and that such regulations shall not have effect until they have lain for thirty days upon the Table of the House.
