Fees for holding inquiries. 6. Where under any enactment (including any local Act, Provisional Order confirmed by an Act, or Order of the Lord Lieutenant in Council) the Ministry of Home Affairs is authorised or required to hold an inquiry, and the costs of the inquiry are made payable by any [district] council, board, commissioners, committee or other person, or in such manner and by such persons as the Ministry of Home Affairs or the officer holding the inquiry may direct, then, notwithstanding anything in such enactment, such costs may include a fee, in respect of the services of any officer of the Ministry engaged in the inquiry, not exceeding [#5.25] a day.
