Messengers not to act as agents, &c. 71. If any present or future messenger shall act as agent in any bankruptcy or insolvency, or stipulate for or obtain, directly or indirectly, out of or from any bankrupt's or insolvent's estate, or any person engaged therein, any remuneration for his services except as provided for by this Act he shall for ever thereafter be incapable of holding the office of messenger; and every messenger shall, before he shall be capable of acting in execution of his office, take before the commissioner the following oath; (that is to say,) "I, A.B., do swear, that I will faithfully, impartially, and honestly execute the several orders which I shall receive from the Court of Bankruptcy and Insolvency in any matter in which I am or shall hereafter be appointed to act as messenger; and that I will not knowingly suppress or conceal the truth, or suggest or practise any falsehood in respect to anything relating to any bankruptcy or insolvency, or any of the proceedings thereunder.
