299. Except where the Court shall otherwise order, an inventory and valuation of the remainder of the bankrupt's ... household furniture, tools, and implements of trade shall be made and delivered to the official assignee; and where the bankrupt ... shall, by writing under his hand, request the assignees not to dispose of the same, such household furniture, tools, or implements of trade shall not be disposed of by the assignees without previous order of the Court; and the Court may, upon the application of the bankrupt ..., postpone the removal and sale of the same for such time as the Court, in the exercise of its discretion, shall think fit; and the Court may permit the same to remain in the use of the bankrupt ..., upon such terms and conditions and with such security as may seem proper; and the Court may at any time order the same to be taken by the [messenger or] assignees, and to be sold for the benefit of the creditors.
