Real estate to vest in assignees. 268. When any person shall be adjudged a bankrupt, ... all lands, tenements, and hereditaments, ... wheresoever the same may be situate, to which any such bankrupt ... is entitled, and all interest therein to which such bankrupt ... is entitled, and of which he might have disposed, and all such lands, tenements, and hereditaments as he shall purchase, or shall descend, be devised, revert to, or come to such bankrupt, before he [shall have obtained his certificate, or to such insolvent before his final discharge] [is discharged from his bankruptcy by an absolute order of discharge under Article 28 or 30 of the Bankruptcy Amendment (Northern Ireland) Order 1980, or by virtue of the expiration of the period or the satisfaction of any requirement specified by a suspended or conditional order of discharge under that Article, or by virtue of Article 29(2) or (4) (automatic discharge) of that Order], and all deeds, papers, and writings respecting the same, shall become absolutely vested in the assignees for the time being for the benefit of the creditors of such bankrupt ....
