Personal estate to vest in assignees. 267. When any person shall be adjudged a bankrupt, ... all the personal estate and effects of such bankrupt ..., present and future, wheresoever the same may be, and all property which he may purchase, or which may revert, descend, be devised, or bequeathed or come to him before such bankrupt [shall have obtained his certificate or such insolvent shall have become entitled to his final discharge in pursuance of the adjudication made in that behalf] [is discharged from his bankruptcy by an absolute order of discharge under Article 28 or 30 of the Bankruptcy Amendment (Northern Ireland) Order 1980, or by virtue of the expiration of the period or the satisfaction of any requirement specified by a suspended or conditional order of discharge under that Article, or by virtue of Article 29(2) or (4) (automatic discharge) of that Order], and all debts due or to be due to him, shall become absolutely vested in the assignees for the time being for the benefit of the creditors of the bankrupt ...; and no such bankrupt ..., nor any person claiming through or under him, shall have power to recover the same, nor to make any release or discharge thereof, neither shall the same be attached as the debt of any such bankrupt ... by any person, ...; but such assignees shall have absolute power and remedy to recover the same in their own names.
