Application of certain provisions of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972. 35.(1) Any person who by any means whatsoever gives or causes to be given to any fire brigade an alarm of fire knowing it to be false shall be liable (a)on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months; (b)on conviction on indictment of a second or subsequent offence to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both. (2) Where a person is seen or found committing or attempting to commit or is reasonably suspected of committing or attempting to commit or is reasonably suspected of having committed or attempted to commit an offence against subsection (1) a member of the Royal Ulster Constabulary may, without warrant, stop, detain, search and apprehend him.[
