Offences in respect of section two. 47.[(1) Subject to sub-section (2), ..., any offence] against this Act may be prosecuted, and any fine in respect thereof may be recovered, and any money by this Act or an order of the Ministry made recoverable summarily may be recovered, and any summary order under this Act or an order of the Ministry may be made, in manner provided by the Summary Jurisdiction Acts; but nothing in this section shall apply to proceedings under the Customs Acts. [(2) Summary proceedings under this Act for an offence ... may be commenced at any time within the period of [three years] from the commission of the offence or within the period of six months from the date on which evidence sufficient to justify a prosecution for the offence comes to the knowledge of the Ministry, whichever period first expires; and for the purposes of such proceedings a certificate purporting to be signed by the Minister or a secretary or assistant secretary of the Ministry as to the date on which such evidence as aforesaid came to the knowledge of the Ministry shall be prima facie evidence thereof.] Subs.(3), inserted by 1966 c.23 s.4, which was rep. by 1975 NI 3 art.11 sch.
