Provisions as to making, duration and effect of orders of committal to fit persons. 90.(1) Subject to subsection (2), if the managers of a training school are satisfied that a person whose period of detention therein is about to expire needs further care or training they may, if the Minister consents, detain him for a further period or periods not exceeding six months in all, so, however, that he shall not be detained beyond the date on which he attains the age of nineteen. (2) The powers conferred by this section shall not extend to a person who, having been a person undergoing detention in a Borstal institution or sentenced to detention under section 73(2), is detained in a training school by order of the Minister or to a person detained under paragraph 11(5) of Schedule 5. Committal to Ministry of Home Affairs as "fit person".
