Avoidance of policies of life insurance of certain children. 7. A person by whom a child in respect of whom notice is required to be served under the foregoing provisions of this Part is kept shall be deemed to have no interest in the life of the child for the purposes of the Life Assurance Act 1774 as extended to Ireland by the Life Insurance (Ireland) Act 1866, and if any such person directly or indirectly insures or attempts to insure the life of such a child, he shall be guilty of an offence under this Part: and if an insurance company within the meaning of the [Insurance Companies Act 1974], or any other company, society, or person, knowingly issues, or procures to be issued, to or for the benefit of such a person as aforesaid or to any person on his behalf, a policy on the life of such a child, the company, society, or person shall be guilty of an offence under this Part.
