DECISION
The decision of the tribunal is that the respondent is ordered to pay to the claimant compensation for unfair dismissal amounting to £86,310.59.

The respondent did not appear nor was it represented.
1. The claimant brought a claim for unfair dismissal on 4 September 2017.
2. The respondent did not enter a response to this claim.
3. On 1 November 2017 I made a default judgement on liability only in which I upheld the claimant's complaint of unfair dismissal. I directed that the remedy hearing would take place.
4. The remedy hearing took place on today, 11 January 2018.
5. On the basis of the evidence before me I am satisfied that the claimant was unfairly dismissed and automatically unfairly dismissed and is entitled to compensation of £86,310.59.
6. The compensation is made up as follows:-
Basic award of £ 1,000.00
Compensatory award of £47,053.32
A statutory uplift of 50% of £23,526.66
Grossing up for income tax purposes £15,730.61
£86,310.59
7. Reasons for my decision were given at the hearing.
8. This is a relevant decision for the purposes of the Industrial Tribunals (Interest) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990.
