THE INDUSTRIAL TRIBUNALS
CASE REF: 2906/11
CLAIMANT: Norma Sarah Sloan
RESPONDENT: Romac Press Ltd
DECISION
The decision of the tribunal is that the claim is dismissed for want of prosecution.
Constitution of Tribunal:
Chairman (sitting alone): Mr I Wimpress
Appearances:
The claimant did not appear and was not represented.
The respondent did not appear and was not represented.
1. In a claim form dated 22 November 2011, the claimant sought a redundancy payment together with notice pay and holiday pay arising from the termination of her employment as an accounts administrator with the respondent on 2 September 2011. The claimant did not set out any details of her claim at section 7.4 of her claim form. All that her claim form contained was very basic information such as dates of employment and pay details. The respondent did not file a response.
2. Neither the claimant nor the respondent attended the hearing. The onus is on the claimant to attend and prove her claim. I am satisfied that both parties were duly notified of the date and place of hearing. In these circumstances I am satisfied that the tribunal has no option other than to dismiss the claim for want of prosecution.
