The Claim

In these proceedings, the
claimant makes a claim for redundancy payment and payment in lieu of notice.
The respondent accepts that these are rightly due.

2. I am satisfied that the claimant is entitled to a redundancy payment and payment in lieu of notice.
Facts
3. Redundancy
(i)
The claimant worked for the respondent
from 1 October 2003 until 7 August 2009. He was made redundant on the latter
date. He had five years’ completed service.
(ii) He was aged 26 at the date of dismissal.
(iii) His average gross pay was £240.66 per week.
(iv) The appropriate multiplier for calculating this redundancy payment is 4.5.
(v) His entitlement is therefore £240.66 x 4.5 = £1,082.97.
4. Payment in lieu
(1) The claimant is entitled to 5 weeks notice. He received one weeks notice.
(2) His net pay was £226.21.
(3) He is entitled to 4 X 226.31= £905.24

(Northern Ireland) 1990.
