The decision of the tribunal is that:-
The claimant’s claim in respect of redundancy pay is well-founded and it is ordered that the respondent shall pay to the claimant the sum of £3150.00 in respect of redundancy pay.

REASONS
1. The respondent company has ceased trading. The respondent has presented a response confirming that the claimant is entitled to a Redundancy Payment.

2. In these proceedings, the claimant makes a claim for redundancy payment.
The outcome
3. I am satisfied that the claimant is entitled to a redundancy payment.
Facts

(i) |
The claimant worked for the respondent from 1 August 1999 until 30 April 2009 as a Manager. She was made redundant on the latter date when the business ceased trading. She therefore had nine years’ completed service. |

She was aged 35 at the time of dismissal. |

|

(iii) |
Her gross pay was subject to the statutory cap of £350 per week. |
|
|

|
(iv) |
The appropriate multiplier for calculating this redundancy payment is 9. |

(v) |
Her entitlement is therefore £350 x 9 = £3150. |

5. This is a relevant decision for the purposes of the Industrial Tribunals (Interest) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990.
