Criminal Procedure-fair trial-interventions by judge-proper to intervene to clarify ambiguities but improper to act as advocate-conviction quashed if interventions make trial unfair but not if merely excessive or inappropriate-likely to be quashed if interventions (a) invite jury/Jurats to disbelieve defence so strongly that cannot be cured by direction in summing-up to decide facts themselves; (b) counsel prevented from presenting defence properly; or (c) accused prevented from giving own version of events
