Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigi il” of 31st May, 2024.

I, NORMA FOLEY, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 (5) of the Education and Training Boards Act 2013 (No. 11 of 2013), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education and Training Boards Act 2013 (Local Authority Members) (Amendment) Regulations 2024.

2. The Education and Training Boards Act 2013 (Local Authority Members) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. 142/2019 ) are amended -

(a) in Regulation 2, by the substitution of the following for the definition of “Order of 2019”:

“ ‘Order of 2024’ means the Education and Training Boards Act 2013 (Composition of Local Authority Membership) Order 2024 ( S.I. No. 243 of 2024 );”,

(b) by the substitution of the following for Regulation 4:

“4. For the purpose of these Regulations, each local authority shall –

(a) establish a panel of candidates for election comprising of all the female members of the local authority who seek election to the education and training board concerned, and

(b) establish a panel of candidates for election comprising of all the male members of the local authority who seek election to the education and training board concerned.”

and

(c) in Regulations 6, 7 and 8, by the substitution of “Order of 2024” for “Order of 2019”.
