I, HELEN MCENTEE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (No. 33 of 2023), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (Commencement) Order 2024. | ||
2. In this Order, “Act of 2023” means the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 (No. 33 of 2023). | ||
3. The 27th day of March 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation: | ||
(a) Part 1, other than section 6; | ||
(b) Part 2, other than section 28; | ||
(c) Part 3; | ||
(d) the Schedule. | ||
4. The 15th day of June 2024 is appointed as the day on which section 67 of the Act of 2023 shall come into operation. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

This Order appoints 27 March 2024 as the day on which provisions contained in Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2023 come into operation. The Order also appoints 15 June 2024 as the day on which section 67 of the Act comes into operation. |
