I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by
sections 8
and
24
of the
Wildlife Act 1976
(No. 39 of 1976) and the Heritage (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2020 (
S.I. No. 339 of 2020
) (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 (
S.I. No. 408 of 2020
)) hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order 2023.
|
| |
(2) The Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders 1979 to 2012 and this Order may be cited together as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders 1979 to 2023.
|

2. In this Order, “Principal Order” means the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Order 1979 (
S.I. No. 192 of 1979
).

3. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is amended by the substitution of the following Part for Part 1:

The effect of this Order is to amend the Open Seasons list of huntable species of wild birds by removing the Goldeneye, Pintail, Pochard and Scaup from the list.
