I, JIMMY DEENIHAN, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 8 (2) of the Wildlife Act 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), and the Heritage (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 192 of 2011 ), (as adapted by the Tourism, Culture and Sport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 220 of 2011 )) hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order 2012.
|
|
|
(2) The Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders 1979 to 2011 and this Order may be cited together as the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Orders 1979 to 2012.
|
|
|
2. In this Order the "Principal Order" means the Wildlife (Wild Birds) (Open Seasons) Order 1979 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1979 ).
|
|
|
3. The First Schedule to the "Principal Order" is amended by substituting the following for Part I:
|
|

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amend the Open Seasons list of huntable species of wild birds by removing the Curlew from the list.
