Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

"Iris Oifigiúil" of 3rd August, 2012.

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 (2) of the Road Traffic Act 2006 (No. 23 of 2006) (as adapted by the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 141 of 2011 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 2006 (Part Commencement Section 16(2)(e)) (Penalty Points) Order 2012.

2. The day fixed as the day on which section 16 (2)(e) of the Road Traffic Act 2006 (No. 23 of 2006), (in so far as it relates to the insertion of Part 7 into the First Schedule to the Road Traffic Act 2002 (No. 12 of 2002)) comes into operation is 3 August 2012.
