I, Martin Cullen, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5, 38, 84 and 92 of the Railway Safety Act 2005 (No. 31 of 2005), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Railway Safety Act 2005 (Section 5 and Parts 4, 9 and 10) (Commencement) Order 2006. 2. In this Order -Act- means Railway Safety Act 2005 (No. 31 of 2005). 3. The day appointed as the day on which section 5, Part 4 (other than section 43) and Parts 9 and 10 of the Act come into operation is 1 May 2006. 4. In Part 4 of the Act the day appointed as the day on which section 43 comes into operation is 1 September 2006. |

The purpose of this Order is to specify the day on which Section 5 (Repeals) and Parts 4 (Safety Management Systems and Safety Case), 9 (Intoxicants & Persons Working on Railway Infrastructure) and 10 (Offences by Persons Working on Railway Infrastructure) of the Railway Safety Act 2005 come into effect. |
