LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) GENERAL POLICY DIRECTIVE (SHOPPING), 1998 (REVOCATION ORDER), 2001. |

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 28 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 ( No. 30 of 2000 ), hereby orders as follows:- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) General Policy Directive (Shopping), 1998 (Revocation Order), 2001. |
||||||||
2. This Order shall come into operation immediately. |
||||||||
3. The Local Government (Planning and Development) General Policy Directive (Shopping), 1998 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1998 ) is hereby revoked. |

4. In the case of any application to a planning authority which is received by the planning authority before the date of coming into force of this Order, or any appeal to An Board Pleanála against a decision on such an application, the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) General Policy Directive (Shopping), 1998 will continue to apply notwithstanding the revocation of the Directive. |

The effect of this Order is to revoke, with effect from 2 January 2001, the Local Government (Planning and Development) General Policy Directive (Shopping), 1998 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1998 ). However, the Local Government (Planning and Development) General Policy Directive (Shopping), 1998 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1998 ) will continue to apply to any planning application which is before a planning authority before the date of coming into force of this Order and to any appeal against a decision on such an application. |
