The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 46(9) (inserted by section 1(b) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) (No.2) Act, 1968 (No. 21 of 1968) , as amended by sections 8 and 9 of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial, Parliamentary and Judicial Offices (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 32 of 1983) ) of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (No. 39 of 1961) , hereby order as follows: |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act, 1961 (Increase of Judicial Remuneration) Order, 1999. |
||||||||
(2) This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 1999. |
||||||||
2. The sums payable by way of remuneration to the several judges of the Supreme Court, the High Court, the Circuit Court and the District Court shall be the following-- |
||||||||
(a) to the Chief Justice -- the sum of £113,429 a year, |
||||||||
(b) to the President of the High Court -- the sum of £102,140 a year, |
||||||||
(c) to each ordinary judge of the Supreme Court -- the sum of £98,305 a year, |
||||||||
(d) to each ordinary judge of the High Court -- the sum of £90,524 a year, |
||||||||
(e) to the President of the Circuit Court -- the sum of £90,524 a year, |
||||||||
(f) to each ordinary judge of the Circuit Court -- the sum of £71,237 a year, |
||||||||
(g) to the President of the District Court -- the sum of £71,237 a year, |
||||||||
(h) to each other judge of the District Court -- the sum of £59,181 a year. |

This Order applies the 2% local bargaining element of Partnership 2000 to the salaries of members of the Judiciary with effect from 1 July, 1999. |
