THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (PROHIBITION OF THE SALE AND SUPPLY OF PETROLEUM AND CERTAIN PETROLEUM PRODUCTS TO THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA) REGULATIONS, 1999. |

I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 ( No. 27 of 1972 ), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Regulation (EC) No. 900/1999 of 29 April 19991 , hereby make the following Regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Prohibition of the Sale and Supply of Petroleum and Certain Petroleum Products to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) Regulations, 1999. |

2. A person who contravenes Article 1 of Council Regulations (EC) No. 900/1999 of 29 April 19991 , shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both. |
||||||||
3. Where an offence under Regulation 2 of these Regulations is committed by a body corporate and is proved to have been so committed with the consent, connivance or approval of, or to have been attributable to any neglect on the part of any person, being a director, manager, secretary or other officer of the body corporate or a person who was purporting to act in any such capacity, that person as well as the body corporate shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to be proceeded against and punished as if he or she were guilty of the first-mentioned offence. |

The effect of this Order is to reduce certain economic relations with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia as provided for in Council Regulation (EC) No. 900/99 of 29 April 1999, and to provide for penalties for infringement of the prohibitions. |
